Everlasting Pine

This pine is special to me because it represents resiliency. Life is about challenges. For some, we have become broken or weakened from the loss of a loved one, loss of a dream, a belief, or hope. For others, we may faced storms that are so tragic that we can never imagine it possible to over come it, but something in us prevails. In all cases we are never the same. This pine tree surely shows what resiliency can look like. So, let's remember where we've been and how far we have come. Dedicated with love to Becky Lane, who reminds us of what is possible, and the resiliency that we all have inside us.

Peter is Back

For those of you who know Peter, he is back for 2010! For those of you who don't know Peter, he comes all the way from France, and is here to help with some summer projects. We are glad you came back!!

Jared, thanks for letting us be a part of your first Marathon. We are so proud of your finish. It was so hard to watch at the 13 mile mark and to see how much pain you were in, but you held on and finished the next 13 miles. You are amazing!

Skylar is an amazing child. She calls her grandma Kathy, "Nama". She calls Dianne her "Other Nama".

It was wonderful spending the weekend on Lake Superior with Phil & Kathy Seipp. If you ever get invited to their lake house, be sure to go, they are the best hosts!

Northern Surprise!

While fishing on Big Mantrap, Kelly saw something she never expected. Her and her husband saw a big SPLASH and realized a northern jumped into their boat!! Here is the famous northern!

The Mantrap Van goes to Fargo, ND

Getting supplies for the resort is a "all day job". The van was loaded to the top and then it was dinner at Famous Dave's BQ. Now all we have to do is get all this stuff put away!

Jake Weiss is in the building.

Jake just finished college. His major is in Turf Management. If anyone needs a smart, reliable, cool intern, be sure and call us and we'll put you in touch with Jake. You won't be sorry!

Jake has been coming to Mantrap Lodge since he was about 8 years old. Thanks for spending your summer vacations with us. Jake is from the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area.

He is also a great fisherman.
