Halloween Tour of Joshua Tree National Park

Mike & I packed a lunch, put the top down on the car and

went on a 150 mile drive through Joshua Tree National Park. What a beautiful place to explore!

Saying goodbye to Tom Casperson.

Being the owner of a resort has such wonderful rewards. The best is getting to know the guests and being a part of their family adventures. The hard part of being a resorter is saying goodbye. This week we lost Tom Casperson to his 7 year battle with cancer. Tom was a great role model for a husband, dad & grandpa. The Caspersons & Kalmes would spend each fall at the resort until Tom got too sick to come. He would come into the lodge and tell stories about the family. He was so proud of his group. He would be so excited about Jordy's catch & muskie follows, the grand kids crafts and the dinners they all shared together. Each year I would help take a family photo to document their trip together. Thank you Tom for the great memories and for being a part of our resort family. You and your special family are in our thoughts and prayers.

We will be dedicating a tree in Tom's memory here at Mantrap Lodge.

This morning the La Quinta Historical Society went on a Celebrity Home Tour.

We all had lunch at Copley's which was Cary Grants previous home.

Remembering Todd Radi

I got a heartbreaking phone call this morning. Todd Radi lost his battle with colon/liver cancer, on August 12th 2010 at age 36. His wife Nikki and their girls have been coming to Mantrap Lodge for years along with Nikki's family, the Larson's. I want to take this time to say what wonderful person Todd was and how much we are going to miss him. We will be thinking of the Larson family and Todd's family as you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

We will be dedicating a tree in Todd's memory here at Mantrap Lodge.

Mike & I got to spend a week in Breckenridge, CO. We got to do some remodeling on Jared's condo and to just hang in the mountains. Every where you go in Breck you hear water. The Blue River & lots of little creeks run all around the town. Thanks goes to Peggy & Jared for sharing such a special place with us.
