Thank you to baptiste for all your hardwork here at Mantrap. We are sad to see you go back to France, but we know you are missed there as well. Good luck to you as you begin college!!

Muskie meets its Match in Area Angler, 13

Chris Shelton, 13, of Bloomington has always been an ardent fisherman. Now he's caught two trophy size muskellunge, bith from the waters of Bryant Lake in Eden Prairie.

"He has always wanted to catch a muskie," said his mother, Sally Shelton. "Fishing has always been his passion."

Chris caught his most recent muskie on spinnerbait Aug. 31. It measured 44 inchs long and weighed 22 pounds.

About a week earlier, Chris caught a 29 inch muskie from about the same spot, his mother said. That fish weighed about 20 pounds. Chris and his friends discovered the lake a few weeks ago. now they go there every chance they get.

He's an eighth grader at Bloomington's Oak Grove Middle School.

I wanted to thank all of you for making our stay with you so special. We all had such a good time and since returning home we have told so many of our friends and neighbors as to where they should vacation in Minnesota. We will definitely be returning to Mantrap Lodge. We wanted to send you a note, and some pictures saying thanks for the great week.
The pictures I am sending are of various moments we had at Mantrap. Bethany caught
a 14" largemouth off the dock with a 4 foot kids pole. There is also a picture of
the girls with a perch, and sunny off the dock. Adam caught a nice 15.5" bass in
Home bay one evening. He also caught a nice 28" pike on Friday when we were chasing
the one that got away Thursday night. I am also including the 35" muskie I caught
Thursday, and wish I could send you a picture of the one that got away Friday night.
I am also including a nice sunset shot Kristen took while we were out Thursday
night. I am also including another Brianna shot with her tube around her neck. I
want to be up there again this week, but I need to get back to work. Thanks once
